Smart. Energy. Upgrade.
We believe better retrofit starts long before installation. It starts with clearer thinking, stronger evidence and a more structured way to compare options before cost, risk and complexity build downstream.
Ivynest exists to help teams plan and deliver smarter energy upgrades, balancing carbon, cost, compliance and real-world delivery constraints in one place.
Before starting Ivynest, founder Mathieu Lafargue worked across building services engineering, low-carbon design and retrofit delivery. He had a close view of how projects actually unfolded, and he kept seeing the same pattern, good people doing their best, but forced to make big decisions with incomplete information and too little opportunity to compare scenarios properly before procurement began.
Heat pumps were sized cautiously; solar and heating systems were specified without being properly thought through. Projects moved forward, but not always in a way that gave them the best chance of performing well.
Those were not isolated incidents; they were signs of a wider problem in the way retrofit planning happens.
Even with the right intent, too many decisions were still being made reactively, too late in the process, and with too much uncertainty already locked in. That did not just create commercial risk, it also made it harder for retrofit to deliver on the wider promise it carries, because poor decisions upstream have a knock-on effect on performance, confidence and long-term impact.
Ivynest was built to address that gap.
Not by replacing expertise, and not by adding more complexity, but by giving retrofit professionals a clearer way to test options, compare scenarios and make decisions they can trust before delivery risk starts to build.
Mathieu founded Ivynest after seeing, first-hand, how often good retrofit outcomes are undermined by decisions made too late. His background spans engineering and retrofit delivery, giving him a practical understanding of where planning breaks down and why.
He built Ivynest to help professionals test options properly, understand trade-offs clearly, and make better-informed decisions at design stage. For Mat, better retrofit starts long before installation. It starts with better thinking upstream.
Head of Growth
Henry helps grow Ivynest by connecting the real-world needs of customers with the direction of the product. His background combines hands-on engineering experience, including building solar farms in Australia, with strategic advisory work in renewable energy.
He brings a practical, clear-headed approach to growth and is particularly good at joining the dots when the market feels complex or fragmented.
Chief Marketing Officer
Andrea helps Ivynest get clear on its story and turn that clarity into momentum. Her background spans cleantech, energy and sustainability, helping purpose-led and technology-enabled businesses sharpen positioning, strengthen messaging and connect commercial strategy with growth.
She joined Ivynest for the challenge of helping build something that can make a real difference in retrofit, and brings an external perspective that helps simplify complexity and focus on what matters.
Co-founder
Cedric leads Ivynest’s strategy and technical development, helping shape the platform into something useful, scalable and grounded in real customer need. He has built and scaled tech-led businesses in IT consulting and healthcare and brings deep experience in turning ambitious ideas into structured, executable products.
He joined Ivynest because sustainability matters to him, and because building something meaningful with people he trusts made the challenge even more worthwhile.
Full Stack Developer
Guillaume was one of the earliest members of the Ivynest team and built much of the platform’s backend foundations. He continues to strengthen the infrastructure behind the application and brings a broad technical foundation across software development, computer science and AI.
He joined Ivynest because he believed in the team and saw the chance to build something meaningful while continuing to develop his skills.
Sales development representative - B2B
Tom helps Ivynest grow its reach by shaping early go-to-market activity and building relationships with potential clients. He brings strong commercial instinct from analytics, SaaS and customer-facing roles, along with a practical approach to turning ideas into action.
He joined Ivynest for the opportunity to be part of a team building something useful in a space that matters.
Sales development representative - B2B
Om helps expand Ivynest’s reach by connecting property professionals with the platform and making its value easier to understand. With a background in sustainable development and ESG, he is used to translating technical and policy-led complexity into something commercially clear and useful.
He joined Ivynest because it brings together a sustainability challenge he cares about with a solution that has the potential to scale.
Sales manager - Landlords, letting agents, Homeowners
Oladapo works closely with HMO owners and letting agents, helping them understand how evidence-led retrofit planning can improve performance, reduce long-term cost and support better decisions across their portfolios.
His background is in sales leadership, technology-led solutions and relationship management across sectors including EdTech, FinTech, GovTech and the wider tech space. He brings a thoughtful, people-focused approach to building trust and helping clients make sense of complex decisions.
He joined Ivynest because he believes in the vision, the technology and the chance to do work that has real impact.

We build confidence into retrofit decisions through clear evidence, transparent assumptions and outputs people can stand behind.

We do not optimise for theory alone. We prioritise retrofit options that create real value balancing cost, performance, compliance and return on investment.

We build for the realities of live retrofit projects - delivery constraints, budget pressure, compliance requirements and imperfect information.
